Gao Wangling

Gao Wangling, male, was born in 1950, Beijing resident. He graduated from the Institute of Qing History of Renmin University of China with an MA degree and is now an associate professor.
He majors in the research of the Chinese history of the 18th and 20th century, economic social history, ideology history and political history.
His main publications include:
Economic Growth and Government Policy of China in the 18th Century (China Social Science Press, 1995)
Economic Growth of Regional Development: the Order of Chinese Traditional Economic Growth (Ocean Publishing House, 1999)
Investigation of the History of Governmental Function and Role (Ocean Publishing House, 2002)
New Theory on Tenancy System: Landlord, Peasant and Land Rent (Shanghai Bookstore, 2005)
Tradition of Living (Peking University Press, 2005)
He visited and attended academic activities held at the universities in US (as Luce Fund scholar from 1986 to 1987), Italy, Germany (1992), Hong Kong (2000), and Australia (2004),
He used to sponsored by Ford Fund and accomplished “Historical Support for Chinese Reform in Countryside” (1987), “Rural Economic Issues during the Period of Collectivization in China”, (1990).
He now participates in the compiling of Reign under Emperor Qianlong, General History, History of Qing Dynasty, a large-scale project organized by the National Editorial Committee of The History of The Qing Dynasty, as well as several international cooperative studies on the rural reform in modern China.
